In 1992, after an inspirational trip to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, Worlds Away started out as an import company that revitalized the painted tole look. Within a few years they began to push design boundaries with additions in handcrafted lighting and hand painted metal furniture. Soon they were employing a distinctive mix including mirrored pieces, statement lighting, occasional furniture, and unique accessories. Their collection now incorporates rich textiles, colored lacquer, lucite, grass cloth, and more to put a modern twist on seamless style. A resurgence of the Hollywood Regency style, as well as Mid-Century modern design, inspired them to create more transitional pieces that could relate to today’s interiors and still hint at the past.

Worlds Away has been in business for over twenty five years and continues to strive for a timeless look in all its pieces. In addition to their 1,200 SKUs, they release new introductions twice a year to keep their line current, and look to trends while listening to their clients so that they remain relevant in the industry.
