MISSONI

T&J Vestor was born in 1921 on the banks of Ticino, in Golasecca (Varese).

The abbreviation T&J combines the initials of the surnames Torrani and Jelmini,

with the addition later of the trademark Vestor.

An almost 100-year-old Italian manufacturer and leader in home textiles,

at the beginning it was called with the name of its founder Piero Torrani and it produced embroidered fabrics,

especially silk, which in the following years gave rise to the production of shawls, kimonos and cushions.

Over the following decades, the company first became the market leader in the clothing sector and subsequently

in the household linen, especially kits, and was characterized by the superiority of its products.

In the mid-1960s, construction work began on the new factory in via delle Scuole and the current production site,

accompanied by a total metamorphosis of the product.

During the 70s the company took its first steps beyond national borders (in addition to Milan and Rome,

shops were opened in Paris, Brussels and Düsseldorf) and gradually specialized in the production of household linen,

sleepwear collections and coordinated for the furniture.

His line of patchwork bedspreads and quilts quickly made its mark on the European market and,

at the end of the decade, also arrived in the United States (in 1979 the first showroom was inaugurated in Los Angeles).

The 1980s represented a decisive turning point and the choice of an increasingly international strategic role.

The collections proposed have a high creative, qualitative and strong identity content.

And the processes are distinguished by the use of cutting-edge techniques of great value.

To satisfy the wishes of an increasingly demanding public, in 1983 the Missoni brand was added under license:

furnishing fabrics, linens, rugs, curtains. A further strategic step that leads T&J Vestor to measure itself with projects that

are not exclusively textile and to approach the new concept of 'lifestyle'. And it is above all a family matter: Rosita Missoni,

born Jelmini, is the sister of Alberto and Giampiero, at the helm of the company together with her cousins Torrani.

In the mid-90s the brand was enriched with a new line, Alviero Martini 1 ° Classe, always produced under license.

The 2000s
In recent decades, the company's presence in the world has gradually strengthened: in addition to the Golasecca

headquarters and the Milan showroom, you can count on the showroom offices in Paris, London, New York.
