Wainwright Raku Gold Chip & Dip - 18" x 12"
99RA58
The history of Raku dates as far back as the 16th century, and it was said that the special type of earthenware was first invented for a tea ceremony in Kyoto, indeed as Raku means ‘pleasure’ or ‘enjoyment.’ Raku's unpredictable results and intense color piqued Michael Wainwright’s interest, along with a desire to tame it for modern tabletop designs. Adding his signature gold details with sharp contrasts of black and white, makes this collection truly art for the table.
This piece can also be used as a serving platter with a sauce bowl. Made of stoneware, the gold gilded pieces in this collection are dishwasher safe, but hand washing will prolong the finish, not for use in microwave.
