The "Palazzo" scented candle by Fornasetti Profumi is adorned by one of Piero Fornasetti's most famous motifs: it shows the facade of a Milanese palace in black and white. The Italian artist and designer Fornasetti has captured every detail - from the heads of the columns to the curtains on the windows - as in an architectural study. The lid of the 16 cm high vessel is also the dome of the building. This humorous detail is also typical of Piero Fornasetti's illusion paintings.
The "Palazzo" scented candle by Fornasetti Profumi smells like the "Otto" scent developed by Oliver Polge. The herbs in Piero Fornasetti's garden inspired the perfumer as well as the woods used in the furniture. With the spicy aromas of thyme and lavender and the heavy notes of cedar wood and frankincense, "Otto" develops a multi-layered, individual yet pleasantly timeless fragrance.
If the "Palazzo" scented candle by Fornasetti Profumi has burned down after about 60 hours of burning, the artistic ceramic vessel can still be used as a decorative object. The scented candle is packed in an elaborate cardboard box. It has one of Fornasetti's trademarks, the keyhole.
Widely revered for his masterful application of two-dimensional art to three-dimensional form, he adapted his graphic illustrations into striking pieces of furniture, interiors, theatre sets, fashion, magazine covers and books, always retaining a sense of humour and poetry in the way he used his artwork on objects and spaces.
During his long and successful career he created a world of instantly recognisable and unceasingly engaging body of work. Fornasetti’s magical world of luxurious and creative design is carried on today by his son Barnaba, and has grown to encompass even more designs and products. Like his father, Barnaba has successfully combined true artistic vision with a traditional and deep rooted artisan approach. Each item to leave the Fornasetti atelier has been painstakingly handcrafted by skilled craftsmen and maestros, with no two items ever the same. This stunning approach spreads across the vast collection of products; each creating an individuality in any interior they are placed in
