The company was founded in 1891 Italy, when Gennaro Sferra first set foot on the cross-Atlantic steamer which would carry him to America. It was a family history of craftsmanship that enabled him to sell the exquisite handmade lace that would become his future.

Dessia is our homage to textile artist Richard Landis, who spent the late 20th century reimagining color theory and complex geometries through weaving. In our jacquard, the yarn colors are softened—all subtle gradients of neutral tones—but the geometrics are just as bold, in a contemporary take on herringbone.
